Husband denies threatening Ewan

Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s ex husband Riley Stearns has denied writing an Instagram post threatening actor Ewan McGregor.

Today the Daily Mail reported it had obtained a screenshot from Mr Stearns’ Instagram account. The post is not on his account now and Stearns says it was photoshopped.

In an Instagram story, the estranged husband of Winstead wrote: “It is so stupid that I have to actually post this but the British tabloids have published a photoshopped Instagram post as if it was something I wrote. This whole process has been a lot for me but to have people out there actually think I wish harm on my ex wife makes me sad.”

It comes afterThe Sun revealed snaps of Star Wars actor McGregor, 46, kissing his Fargo co-star, 32, at a busy restaurant in St John’s Wood, North West London.

McGregor and Winstead have since confirmed their relationship as they stepped out holding hands while on a weekend away.

The Trainspotting star split from his wife of 22-years Eve Mavrakis, 51, as he started his new relationship with his co-star.

Meanwhile, Winstead and Mr Stearns split after seven years of marriage in May and the actress said she would “always love” her former husband.

It has since been revealed that McGregor also split from Eve in May.

Riley, who works as a TV writer, said he the post had been photoshopped.

There is no proof that Winstead was unfaithful to her husband during their marriage.

The account features pictures of Mr Stearns and Winstead as well as videos of him.

The Sun Online have contacted Mr Stearns to verify the account.

Back in May, Winstead announced their split on her Instagram account, which has since been deleted.

She wrote: “We’ve decided to move on from our marriage, but we will stay best friends and collaborators for all our days.

“We are still ride or die, just in a different way now. I love you always, Riley.”

Meanwhile, Ms Mavrakis recently broke her silence on her and McGregor’s split.

Ms Mavrakis has maintained a dignified silence since McGregor has went public with his new girlfriend shortly after their split but in a heartbreaking response on Instagram, the star simply said: “What can I do?”
